Attendance Recovery
At Ruskin High School, we believe that consistent attendance is key to academic success. Our Attendance Recovery Program is designed to support students who have fallen behind due to absences. After 7 absences, you lose credit in a class. (NC = F)
- Attendance Recovery takes place only on TUESDAYS & THURSDAYS.
- Attendance Recovery is in the Media Center, and it is a QUIET study hall or work time.
-
Tuesday & Thursday Attendance Recovery is only for 10th-12th graders (no 9th Graders)
-
Freshmen should speak with their CORE teachers about tutoring and attendance recovery options.
-
Students cannot make-up credit for Cuts. (Days that are marked with a "C")
Students must be present by 2:35 p.m. and stay for the entire session to receive credit for recovery. The session ends at 4:45 p.m.
Please complete the Attendance Recovery Form for EACH day that you would like to stay for Attendance Recovery. Each time you fill out a form and attend equals ONE DAY of Attendance Recovery.
Second Semester Attendance Recovery Dates:
Tuesday, February 17th: First Day of Attendance Recovery
Thursday, April 16th: Last Day of Attendance Recovery for Seniors
Friday, April 17th: Attendance Appeal Letters Due for Seniors
Thursday, May 14th: Last Day of Attendance Recovery for Sophomores and Juniors
Friday, May 15th: Attendance Appeals Due for 9th through 11th
7 Absences in a Class = Loss of Credit in that Class
If credit is lost in a class, the attendance appeal form can be submitted to the Attendance Appeal Committee for review if there are any special circumstances to consider.
Submitting this form does not guarantee the absences will be cleared.
If you have any supporting documentation to submit, you may either email or hand-deliver it to Mr. Perkins.
